Patata (Istanbul)
Although I have been to Istanbul many times the last few months, talking to various people who were (and still are) interested in opening a Belgian Fries shop, some guy beat me in the race to open the first shop in Turkey … His shop is called Patata and is located on İstiklal Street (Taksim area). According to my friend Demir (who also took the pictures) the taste of the fries was not that good. Time to go back and check them out!
how do i get one of those Frying systems here in the US?
cok guzel bir lezzet…istanbula yolu düşenlerin mutlaka yemesini tavsiye ederim…
Hi!
Nothing to do with Belgium ‘Pommes frites’.
Especially the sauce are terrible! We don’t talk about the price!
Very disappoint . They have money and believe they can do every things
of course, you’ve got those characters in your gallery here; just a bit small to *really* see ‘em.
We stepped into the shop earlier this week. I really wanted a picture of the amazing character design: each flavor of sauce is a different Patata person where the sauce is represented as their hairstyle. It’s absolutely brilliant! I want to find those graphics!
oohhh!!!!patata very very delishes.
please open in new mexico.
I’ve visited Patata a number of times in the past two weeks.
The fries seem to have improved even in that amount of time and are now quite tasty. The upstairs seating area is good too.
However, it’s too expensive for Istanbul – 4TL for small, 5TL for medium and 7TL for large fries is too much. I don’t think the choice of sauces is a compelling enough reason for the high prices.
Other places on Istiklal street, for example Pat-sos, sell a Chicken doner complete with a drink for 4TL.
In my opinion, Patata should reduce their prices and perhaps get rid of the small size option, or do more promotional offers. Theire fries are good, but I fear that they are losing customers due to their pricing structure.
hi everyone.
nedim you do well! it is delicious! congratulations!I visited your shop last friday. Were you there friday night?
I have tasted belgian fries in many countries and as a turk I can say that belgian fries are just for us.
