Currywurst – curryworst – frika(n)del: links

Submitted by mich on Tuesday, 9 December 20082 Comments - 25,440 views

Beer, curryworst and fries

The curryworst, also called Currywurst (Germany), frikadel or frikandel (Belgium and the Netherlands) is the most popular snack to be ordered together with fries. It is normally made with chicken and pork meat, although a Halal version also exists.

Served plain or sliced open and filled with onion, mayonaise and ketchup.

The German currywurst seems to be different than the Belgian/Dutch one. As far as I judge from the pictures I see on different websites, it looks more like a “normal” German sausage … Time to get to Berlin to check it out!

A currywurst museum apparently is opening in Berlin (Germany) in 2009.

Links, all “auf Deutsch” (in German) I’m afraid

    Hi,

First of all I love your website!

I was wondering if you knew of any companies that could transport curryworsten and bitterballen in bulk from Belgium to the UK?

    Kind regards,

    Caroline
